How to extend
your Dreadlocks with Marley hair
Hi guys, so i decided to show you guys how i extended my dreadlocks with marley hair. Yes MARLEY HAIR. It took me three days to interlock the marley hair in the same pattern that my loctician interlocks my hair. Three full days it took me and i have used and reused the extensions a couple of times. They still good and feel very light on my head. I even dye them when i'm dying my locks lol.
I will be uploading a DIY video on How to make Dreadlock Extensions with Marley Hair, so please stay tuned for that video.
The Items you will need to extend your dreadlocks include:
Lock
Extensions
Detangling
comb/brush
Needle and black thread/yarn (optional)
Process
Tease out the hairy tip of the lock extension and do a three strand braid upward from the tip of your actual lock.
Sew the tip of the lock extension that's sticking out.
This prevents unraveling and also to makes the extended lock look neat (but it's optional, you
can palm roll the extension to get the same neat effect).
Repeat this process until all your locks are
extended.
How to extend
your Dreadlocks with Marley hair
You can
extend baby locks, sisterlocks and traditional locks. The maintenance is just like you
would your normal hair or traditional locks.
Depending on the colour of your hair or locks, you can vary the colour of the extensions. Marley hair comes in several different colours, so the options are open to you. You can also try an ombre effect with the marley extensions eg black locks and red extensions, black locks and brown or grey extentions (be imaginative rainbow hair is in trend now)
This style is recommended for
those with baby locks who may sometimes feel like styling their hair. I had my
baby locks on my wedding day styled in extensions.
Give it a
try and let me know what you think.

6 Ways to Style lock Extensions
A lot of
people feel locks or dreadlocks (as some people call them) are rigid. They feel
if they get locks, they will have one hair-do for life. The contrary is
true.
Locks are as flexible as you want them to be. Even when they are still
short (baby locks), you can extend them with Yarn, Marley hair, kanekelon hair, African
threads etc the list is endless and limited to your imagination.
That’s why I decided
to do a video on how I style my lock extensions. My locks are 4 years (since September 2011) old so
they are not short but I decided to extend them anyway. Just to explain my point, that they can look and feel good when extended. I keep my extensions for at least 6 months to a year. I can wash, re-twist and style them whenever i want and however i want. They are very light and all my edges are still in place (if you know what i mean).
Extended
locks can be washed and styled just like you would your normal hair. They can go through your normal washing, conditioning and styling routines. They
are very convenient and people ask all the time, if they are my hair or braids.
Caution: You don’t have to keep your hair unwashed because of the lock extensions.
They are not braids and your hair is natural anyway, so you can wash it even with the extensions in.
Give it a try!!!
